What is ERP?

An ERP system consists of components, both hardware and software, that monitor, measure and control critical processes across a commercial entity. These individual elements are divided into modules that control various designated segments of the business. These modules are all linked together around a core business database allowing the retrieval of vital statistics across various devices and platforms in a coordinated way.

This level of connectivity allows seamless collaboration across individual departments and divisions, such as Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Production, Fulfillment and distribution.

Due to the ERP's unified nature, sales orders can be processed via multiple points of entry including e-commerce, telephone, fax, email, EPOS, etc, whilst utilizing a common database. As a by-product, this streamlines the data-entry further increasing efficiency.
